About WageVoyage

WageVoyage builds interactive money tools for people whose income crosses borders: freelancers invoicing international clients, remote employees weighing a move, and workers comparing what a salary is actually worth from one country to the next.

Why this site exists

Generic salary calculators assume you live and work in one country, on one payroll. The moment you freelance from Portugal for a US client, take Georgia’s small business status, or compare a Dubai offer against staying in Amsterdam, those calculators stop being useful. WageVoyage focuses on exactly those country-by-situation combinations — with the tax rules, contribution thresholds and cost data specific to each one.

Who runs WageVoyage

WageVoyage is researched, built and maintained by vidaondo, an independent publisher focused on making cross-border money decisions calculable rather than anecdotal. Every tool on this site states its assumptions, cites its official sources and shows when its data was last verified — if you catch a number that disagrees with the cited source, corrections are handled first.

How we work

Every country-specific figure on this site is taken from an official source — national tax authorities, government portals and international institutions — and stamped with the date we last verified it. Drafting is assisted by software; verification is done by a human, and nothing is published until its numbers have been checked against the cited source. Our build system refuses to publish any dataset that lacks a source URL and a verification date. The full process is documented in our editorial policy.

What we are not

We are not tax advisors, lawyers or financial planners, and nothing on this site is personalized advice. Our tools help you understand the shape of a decision; for the decision itself, especially anything involving tax residency, talk to a qualified professional in the relevant country.
